FBA has been developed to launch what we consider to be a comprehensive, structured and rewarding cricket academy with an ethos to promote inclusion and diversity.
Firstly, everyone has their fingers crossed that the 2021 season will be full of cricket, but in the current pandemic climate we have come to recognise that everything can change. We just want to reassure you that if you sign-up for FBA Membership and coaching doesn’t go ahead due to Government restrictions we will refund you upon request, pro-rata throughout the 2021 season. So, what are you waiting for? We can’t wait to meet you! Sign up here 🙂
WHO IS FBA FOR?
FBA supports male and female players from the age of eight years old, right up to twenty-five. We’re an Academy promoting diversity and equality, so members are welcome irrespective of skin colour, culture, gender or wealth. Our PACE initiative has been established to help reach more minority groups and increase overall engagement in cricket, helping create a vibrant, dynamic, successful, and most importantly equal, playing field. Our Partnership Achieving Cricket Equality (PACE) will bring together FBA Hubs for training at local schools and youth centres, specifically targeting Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups as well as those from low-income families.
Our training supports players whether they are members only with FBA, or to compliment local club, school or County cricket.
The aim is simple: to nurture all players, encourage them to develop at their own pace, whilst also preparing them for the challenges they face on and off the cricket field.
The main criteria for accepting members is: desire. Players must demonstrate over a period of time that they want to play for themselves and as part of a team. Our core aim is to improve all aspects of a player providing they demonstrate a willingness and openness to achieve.
Our membership packages are supported through our Pay What You Can fees.
MEMBERS = FAMILY
FBA members are known as the FBA Fam. We promote respect and expect all members to pitch in to make First Ball Academy, not just a success, but a positive, supportive place to train, play, hang out and thrive.
FBA coaches will take an active interest in the progress of all members but at the end of each summer season (September) each member will receive a detailed report, created to highlight good points and areas of improvement. The FBA Team, along with the commitment of our members, aim to ensure each member reach their full potential.
